Things to do in and around Connellsville, Pennsylvania

Connellsville is part of the Laurel Highlands in Southwestern Pennsylvania, which is the third most visited area of the state.   Listed below are just a few of the attractions one may visit and participate in.  The area is mainly noted for outdoor activities, such as white water rafting in Ohiopyle, fishing along the Youghiogheny River and other streams, camping, and hiking and cycling on the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP). If it is raining, there are indoor activities such as our many museums and historical areas such as the Flight 93 Memorial and Ft. Necessity where the French and Indian War began in 1754. The Laurel Highlands are also home to Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as Kentuck Knob with a sculpture garden, and Polymath Park where two Wright houses and two houses built by his apprentice Peter Berndtson have been relocated to protect them from being razed.
